CITY OF BOSTON.

In Board of Aldermen, Monday, Jan. 19, 1857.

The Committee on Paving, &c., would respectfully ask that an appropriation be made for liquidating the damages, or a portion thereof, occasioned by the change of grade of Albany street, in consequence of the building of a Bridge, over the Boston and Worcester Railroad, in said Albany street. A portion of the work in raising the streets connected with Albany street has been delayed until the coming Spring. It is thought by the Committee that Twenty-five thousand dol lars will be all that is necessary, at the present time, to meet the liabilities of the City, on account of said damages, and would recommend that sum to be borrowed and appropriated for the same.

For the Committee,

OTIS RICH, Chairman.
