AND WHEREAS, due notice has been given of the intention of this Board to take the said parcels of land for the purpose aforesaid, as appears by the return hereunto annexed, IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED, That the parcels of land before described be, and the same hereby are, taken and laid out as a public street or way of the said City, according to plans of the said widening and extension, made by Thos. W. Davis, City Surveyor, dated November 30, 1869, and deposited in the office of the said City Surveyor. And this Board doth adjudge that the expense of widening and extending the said SHAWMUT AVENUE, as aforesaid, will amount to four hundred forty-seven thousand five hundred forty and 65 dollars; and that the damages to the estates, parts or the whole of which are taken as aforesaid, are the sums set against them respectively on the schedule hereto annexed.

The expense of widening and extending said street between Dover and Pleasant streets, to be charged to the Suffolk street loan; and the expense of extending said street from Pleasant to Tremont street, to be charged to the special loan as herein after provided.

Ordered, That the Treasurer be, and he hereby is authorized to borrow under the direction of the Committee on Finance, the sum of two hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars, the same to be appropriated for the extension of SHAWMUT AVENUE, from Pleasant street to Tremont street, including the grading and paving of said portion of said street.
