GEORGE M. BARTHOLOMEW, President, and EDWARD APPLETON, acting Superintendent of operations of the Boston, Hartford and Erie Railroad Company, being severally sworn, each for himself, deposes and says, that said Company has purchased the rights of franchise and property of the Boston, Hartford and Erie Extension Railroad Company, formed by articles of association, filed Oct. 1, 1863, by authority of an act of the Legislature of New York, passed April 25, 1864. The line is not definitely settled. The Company is engaged in purchasing land, procuring rights of way, and examination of routes preliminary to construction. Only a small amount of construction is as yet done, so we can make no more extended or more definite report.
