1865. Aug. 21. As a freight train was approaching Upper Piermont, a boy named Charles Kunse attempted to cross the track in front of the train, was struck by locomotive and both of his legs were broken; one was amputated. He has recovered. The above accidents were caused by the carelessness of the persons injured. Communications intended for this Company should be addressed, office foot of Cortland street, New York City. The undersigned have caused the foregoing statements to be prepared by the proper officers and agents of this Company, from the books and records, and have examined them as far as practicable, and believe them to be correct.
