CITY OF BOSTON. JANUARY 9, 1871. To the Honorable Board of Aldermen of the City of Boston: The Superintendent of Public Lands respectfully submits his Annual REPORT. The sales of land under the direction of the Committee on Public Lands during the year ending December 31, 1870, have been as follows: Five lots on Chester Park east of Harrison ave nue, containing 8,400 square feet, at $1.50 cents per foot One lot on Albany near Dover street, containing 3,435 square feet, at $1.50 cents per foot. The amount of salable lands belonging to the city of Boston, and in charge of the Committee on Public Lands, is as fol lows: Between Dover street and the line which formerly divided Boston and Roxbury, building and wharf lots containing 626,628 ft. In South Boston, building lots containing 601,458 " At Boston Highlands, two lots, also, a wharf on Swett street, leased by the city of Roxbury, but expires in May, 1872, containing 836,290" By the annexation of Dorchester, the city of Boston came into possession of the following lands, which are also in charge of the Committee on Public Lands: One lot on Dorchester avenue and Gibson street, known as the Gibson school fund property, containing about Amount carried forward, 622,671 " |
