Malcolm is a skillful journalist, but as a historian, he does not go much further than a mere propagandist. It is easy to understand why - his book was needed to justify the policies of interventionism in Former Yugoslavia. His bibliography looks extensive, but, sadly, it consists predominantly of the Austro-Hungarian (that is, hostile towards the Serbs) and sources written in teh XX century. There are also material mistakes of his manipulation about the Bosnian Church. His knowledge of Serbo-Croat is such that he deliberately translates the term "host" with "gost" and the meanings are just the opposite. Even though widely advertised and higly praised, the book deserves only one praise: a masterpiece of falsification.
