AN OFDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ONE OF CHAPTER TWO OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF EIGHTEEN HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF ADDITIONAL OFFICERS.

Be it ordained by the City Council of Boston, as follows:

Section 1. Section one of chapter two of the Revised Ordinances of 1898 is hereby amended by inserting after the words “The superintendent of streets", the words “and a deputy superintendent of ferries”; and also by inserting after said insertion and before the words “The chief weigher and two assistant weighers of vessels and ballast’, the words: The superintendent of sewers. The superintendent of bridges. The superintendent of sanitary department. The superintendent of street cleaning and watering. The superintendent of supplies.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER THREE OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF EIGHTEEN EIUNDRED AND NINETY – EIGHT.

Be it ordained by the City Council of Boston, as follows:

Section 1. Chapter three of the Revised Ordinances of 1898 is hereby amended in section five in the clause establishing the salary of the superintendent of streets by striking out the words “seventy-five hundred” and inserting in place thereof the words “five thousand.” Sect. 2. Said section five is further amended by adding to the list of officers and salaries the following: The superintendent of sewers, thirty-five hundred dollars. The superintendent of bridges, three thousand dollars. The superintendent of sanitary department, three thousand dollars. The superintendent of supplies, three thousand dollars.
